• Last Hope Sound: Discovered by Spanish explorer Juan Ladrillero in 1557 and named “Última Esperanza” (“Last Hope”).
• Eberhard Fjord: Named after Hermann Eberhard, the German pioneer who settled in the region and discovered the famous Mylodon Cave.
• Señoret Channel: Named after Carlos Señoret Astaburuaga, a Chilean navigator of the 19th century. The channel connects Last Hope Sound with the inner waters of the Última Esperanza fjord system.
• Guanaco Island:Known for its native wildlife, endemic bird species such as owls and woodpeckers, and its geological significance, including fossils and petrified formations.
